Fight or Flight (Supergirl)

"Fight or Flight" is the third episode in the first season of the CBS television series ''Supergirl'', which aired on November 9, 2015. It was written by Michael Grassi and Rachel Shuker, tand directed by Dermott Downs. The episode centers on Kara taking on Reactron, who has come to National City to seek revenge on Superman by killing Supergirl, while at the same time take on Cat's plans to do a expose on Supergirl.
==Plot==

Picking up from the previous episode, Cat is ready to interview Supergirl in the hopes to find out about why she came to National City, knowing that before she arrived other events had already occurred. When Cat asked about her relationship to Superman, Kara accidentally reveals that Superman is her cousin but then takes off before Cat can answer her questions. The next morning, Alex is none too pleased with Kara revealing her secret to anyone, especially to Winn and James after they join in, and tells Kara that she needs to keep a low profile, but its already too late, as a TV program leads with the Supergirl story, and as Kara arrived to work, she learns that Cat is preparing to write a Supergirl expose as part of a magazine she is launching at a event. Kara's exposure is also causing a strain on the DEO, especially with Hank. The TV story also captures the attention of a disfigured individual known as Reactron (the alias of Ben Krull), who makes his feeling known by destroying the television set, as he wants to seek revenge on Superman and has found the perfect target.
The DEO received a "Code Grey" but Supergirl immediately takes off and later spots a trapped bus driver on the highway and helps the person get medical attention, when all of a sudden she is quickly attacked by Reactron, who proves to be too much of a match, but before they can finish Reactron leaves. Kara informs the DEO about Reactron but because he is a human they can not do anything. Back at CatCo, Will helps Kara track down any danger in National City by building a high-tech lab with additional help from James. Across town at Lord technology labs, Maxwell is reviewing projects when Reactron storms in and decides to take one of Lord's workers who can understand nuclear fission, and when Maxwell sees this he offers to be Reactron's hostage and the two leave before Supergirl arrived to find out where Reactron took him. While researching information on Reactron, Kara learns that her cousin was involved in a reactor meltdown that he stopped, which resulted in the death of Reactron's wife, for whom he blames Superman for and why he has targeted Kara.
In Cat's office, Kara reads the article that she wrote about Supergirl, and is surprised to see Cat slandered her, and Kara is not too happy. Later that afternoon Kara discovers the location of Reactron's hideout and races there upon learning that he has Maxwell. When she arrives, Kara saves Maxwell but Reactron is still fixated on Supergirl and uses his powers to weaken her, but just as she loses consciousness, she is saved by her cousin Superman. The following day, Kara discovers that Supergirl is now being discredited by Lord in the media because of Superman, and when she discovers that James called Clark Kent with a device to help her, Kara asks James to leave. Back at the DEO, Hank (whose eyes start glowing red, a sign of suspicion), asks Alex if there were others who know about Kara by using DEO information. Alex says no, as she tries to find out more about Reactron and how to defeat him.
Later that night at the party that Cat organized in celebrating the Supergirl article, Cat is greeted by Maxwell but his fails in getting Cat to reveal her story, while Kara shares a dance with Winn. James decided to patch things up by also dancing with Kara, but before they can finish the conservation Reactron breaks in and terrorizes everything around him in searching for Supergirl. He then sees Maxwell but before he can kill him, Supergirl arrived and stops him, allowing James to divert Reactron's attention towards him. Kara learns from Alex that his power core (his chest plate) will render him powerless and needs to melt down immediately in order to be covered it in lead. Kara then melts part of a lead statue onto her hand and heads outside to battle Reactron, where she successfully removes the power core and stops him, saving James. Afterwards, Kara thanks Alex and Hank for their help.
Back at the apartment, Kara and Alex made up, with Alex suggesting that Kara asks James out, but when she went to the office, Kara sees Lucy Lane, James' ex-fiancé, who arrived to talk to him, and Kara overhears that conversation, leading her to believe that Lucy wants to get back with James. While Kara was upset about this, even giving Winn the cold shoulder, she does receive a texted apology from Clark. Alex also reads the article on Supergirl, telling Kara that Cat was impressed before she took off to answer a siren's sound.
